At Student Art Festival, part of our mission is to exhibit student films in as many places and in front of as many people as possible. With that goal in mind, we are excited and proud to join with four other Florida based film festivals.



In its seventh year at the Enzian theater,FilmSlam continues to be a popular outlet for indie and student filmmakers throughout the State of Florida. FilmSlam will usually be held on the second Sunday of each month at 1PM at the Enzian. [STARTFEST] is honored to accept and contribute entries from the Central Florida area into FilmSlam.





The Amelia Island Film Festival High School Director Competition is open to rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are current residents of Florida and S. E. Georgia. The Competition will be held during the 2014 AIFF Annual Festival February 27th thru March 2nd. The judging and feedback will be provided by [STARTFEST].



Prize money will be awarded to the Top 3:

1st place – $300

2nd place – $200

3rd place – $150

The Sunscreen Film Festival has grown from its first festival in 2006 to a nationally recognized event with an annual attendance of over 11,000. The festival is based in downtown St. Petersburg. Sunscreen was voted one of the “25 Coolest Film Fests” in the country by MovieMaker Magazine and Best Tampa Bay Area Film Festival by Tampa Bay Magazine. Sunscreen is one of only 23 Film Fests in the country to be sponsored and acknowledged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars)


[STARTFEST] will sponsor the high school and college blocks this year.
